Samantha Dunmire, PhD

Chief Scientist

Dr. Dunmire joined Luminary in 2019. During her thesis work, she made discoveries on viral acquisition and early immune responses to human pathogen Epstein-Barr virus. She provided the first ever gene expression profile of infectious mononucleosis and defined viral dissemination kinetics during the previously undescribed incubation period.

Her postdoctoral work examined induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) epigenetic memory and differentiation into immune cells as “off the shelf” sources for cellular therapies. Given her strong background in immunology, Sam’s T cell expertise makes her an important member of our team.
